Guide on How to Eat Before Running

For runners today, most of you don’t eat before running but only drink water, which makes the body quickly hungry and more easily fatigued. Here is a guide for you to eat some light foods before running.

  1. Do not eat foods that cause thirst, and dry or block the throat, because after eating you won’t be able to drink enough water, which will cause it to get stuck in your throat and make it difficult to breathe.
  2. Eat foods that provide enough nutrients for running, to compensate for the calories burned.
  3. Eat quick-prepared foods to save time so you can still go to work after your workout. Usually, if you don’t want to cook or prepare food, coaches will use bars (nutrition bars), but for regular runners, if you have someone to cook for you, eat, rest for about 15-25 minutes, then start warming up.
  4. In any season, after a light meal, you should drink warm water to clear all food residues in your mouth, making it easier to breathe while running.

If you are hungry and cold, your body loses heat quickly, making you more susceptible to colds and chills. Without prompt assistance, this can lead to unfortunate consequences. Some people are quite careless, which is why these situations still occur.

If you eat properly before running, you will always feel energized for your workout and not quickly fatigued.

Conclusion

When you are young, you have strength, but as you age, exercise correctly and eat properly to stay healthy.
